The Timbaktu Collective

For over 35 years, The Timbaktu Collective has demonstrated what steady, community-led action can build—stronger livelihoods, restored ecosystems, and renewed cultural pride. Working across 347 villages in one of Andhra Pradesh’s most drought-prone regions, they have nurtured cooperatives for women, farmers, artisans, agricultural labourers, and people with disabilities, while regenerating commons and reimagining education. Through this partnership, the aim is to deepen their work and share their proven, place-based model with communities everywhere.
